Don Koolmees, President of Koolriver Adventure Tours has been white water rafting for over 20 years (this is actually his 24th season). He started this whitewater rafting company in 1995 with a commitment to provide you with the best and safest river rafting experience possible. He continues to work the rafting trips as a guide, and he loves it! Spending a day on the river is still a special and wonderful experience for him, and he wants to share that with you! In 2006 Koolriver Adventures purchased Whitewater Connection, in Coloma CA

The staff is handpicked from the finest available locally and from around the world. We are dedicated to quality and special attention to you as an individual and to your enjoyment and safety. Our goal is for you to have the most fun and enjoyment on whatever trips that you choose to go on.

Who Can Go?
We have rafting experiences for you from beginning Class II trips, to thrilling Class V rafting adventures.

All of the equipment is state of the art top quality whitewater rafting gear. The self-bailing rafts are the finest made in the world. The life jackets are specially designed for whitewater use and are approved by the U.S. Coast Guard. Each of the trips carries a full safety and emergency kit.

K.A.T. has an excellent safety record. All of the guides are certified in first aid and CPR. A majority of the staff is certified in Swift Water Rescue.

Great food and plenty of it! Our bountiful deli lunches, where you make your own masterpiece from a plentiful variety of ingredients. Dinners with steak, lobster and chicken and fresh salad bar, baked potatoes, garlic bread with freshly baked desserts. Also free flowing drinks and refreshments.

What to Bring
No special equipment is needed. After receiving your deposit, we will provide a complete list of items we recommend you bring. We also have a camp store on the South Fork of the American for any forgotten essentials.

When to raft
We start on April 1 for those who are looking for a little extra action and excitement with the spring runoff. When the spring runoff subsides, and summer fully arrives, water flows remain fairly consistent and temperatures rise to the 90 degrees until mid September and the last trips are usually the first week of October.
